Belle Vue - Buckingham Place - Brighton
And what a view it is! In the foreground you have the carbuncle that is Brighton rail station, but don’t let that put you off, you only need to look a little further in to the distance to see the real beauty of the view. This is another great little pub so let’s pop in and grab a pint or four.
As you may or may not know; our reviews are not just based on one visit to a pub, no! We visit several times (sometimes regularly) over a period of time, so as to get a good picture of the real personality of the establishment. What can I say, we’re professionals!
This pub does have a bit of a split personality, there are wooden tables and chairs and also sofas to ‘kick back’ on. A couple of things caught my, namely; the range of interesting art-work on the walls OK mainly the Forbidden Planet and the PC nestled in the corner, handy for when you just need to check your webmail. This is another of the WiFi enabled pubs, so you’re sorted for t’inernet goodness!
The drinks are reasonably prices a pint of san miguel costing me the princely sum of £2.90 the last time I was there. If you venture to the back of the pub you’ll find a pool table, another nice touch. The Belle Vue can get a little packed at popular times, another sign of a good boozer.
During my visit the toilets were being refurbished, but everything was in order despite the filler crazed walls. There is some seating outside, but no real garden.
This is a pub worth visiting, nice surroundings, good beer and a nice mix of people. Recommended!

How can you call Brighton Station a carbunkle??? This serious lack of vision puts your review in doubt as far as I am concerned. There is a wonderful elevated view across the city, at the base of the view is the sweeping victorian glass engine sheds….. What on earth do you want??
