The Earth & Stars - Church Street, Brighton
You’ll find the Earth & Stars a few yards (or should that be metres now?) away from the throng of Queens street; with it’s numerous bars, eateries and off-licences. This pub lives in a world betwixt the trendiness of ‘the Lanes’ and the chavtastic madness that is West St - So what’s it like???
This establishment used to be called; ‘The Windsor’ and by all accounts, was one of Brighton’s less salubrious drinking dens - how times change.
Inside
You’ll be greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere - this is a nice-sized pub, not uber-trendy or full of posers. You’ll get a pint of Kronenbourg at the median of the Brighton price range, well kept and served nicely chilled. Also served; a range of organic beers, spirits and wines.
The staff were always friendly and service was nice and prompt. You can take a seat on the wooden benches or if you’re lucky you may be able to get a seat on one of the sofas.
This is another pub which provides free WiFi internet access - The speed of which was adequate for a little surfing and emailing.
There is also an upstairs seating area, which provides a nice ‘overspill’ when the downstairs area gets really busy.
The toilets were OK on my visit(s) if a little cramped.
