The Grand Central - Surrey Street, Brighton

Timing is everything
I’ve been in this establishment a few times and it is a nice enough place, not great, but acceptable. Other people don’t seem to have been so fortunate, with reports of fights and general aggro.

The Grand Central - Surrey Street, Brighton

Inside
The Grand Central is a large pub with (an updated; saloon, public bar) traditional floor plan. You will also find a roof garden/terrace, great in the nice weather. The service was friendly enough, sometimes taking a while to get served though.

Once served the beer was acceptable, but I thought it veered on the expensive side. Also, the selection wasn’t that great.

You really need to be mindful that this pub fills up with ’suits’ after work, so this is not a good place to visit if you don’t fit that genre.

The GC does have free wifi internet access and the toilets are OK, but are on the small side.

In conclusion; pick your time well and this pub is acceptable; otherwise, avoid. (unless you are a trendy cock-ass suit type)
