The Fiddlers Elbow - Boyce’s Street, Brighton
Brave the hell that is West street and you’ll be rewarded with this traditional Irish pub. Let’s go inside and sample the Guinness, just for the craic. . .

Inside
You’ll find a traditional Irish pub, no plush carpet and chairs here; no! So this is not simply a theme bar. The chairs are comfortable enough though, if you’re lucky enough to get a table. The staff are friendly enough but they’re not Irish
Service was pretty swift too.
The prices are pretty reasonable, especially if you visit during the (generous) happy hours; 12noon to 8pm - you’ll find the prices even better:
- Strongbow £1.85
- Kronenbourg £2.20
- Guinness £2.20
Childrens are allowed in until 8pm - But I’ve not seen any in there on my visits. Sports (rugby/football) are shown on the big-screen TV, so not the best place to go for a quiet Saturday afternoon drink.
The toilets are the Achilles’ heel of this establishment - pretty scummy if you ask me. If absolutely don’t need to visit them, don’t! Still, they’re not a bad as the toilets in the Hobgoblin, but then that’s not really saying too much for the Hygiene level.
Overall not a bad pub - Just let down by the toilets.
