Pub Scene - Brighton & Hove Pubs

Sometimes life likes to give you a metaphoric kick in the plums - I got one of these shortly after reviewing the Temple Bar, as within weeks it was shut down and torn apart! (I didn’t think it was that bad )

Welcome to the all new Star and Sailor! Gone is the green exterior, broken window and big screen TV’s showing sport. Replaced with a light and airy feeling bar, outside seating and a nice red paint job.

I visited on a Friday night and the place was full of ‘Shirts’ - the trendy sort of ‘geezer’ types and there were bouncers on the door, now to be fair, the pub had only just re-opened, so this could of been a bit of misfortune on my part. The old temple bar was never like this, not even on a Friday night (at least when I went there).

The beer was fair enough, no problems to report here and the service was speedy despite the crowds

Much of what I said about the Temple bar holds true - this is a nice enough place if you’re in the neighbourhood, well worth a visit.
