The Sussex - East Street, Brighton
Here’s a ‘chain’ pub - I know this ‘cos a friend works for the chain in question and scored us some half-price vouchers, let the drinking reviewing commence!

Bit of an ‘interesting’ pub this one - Not quite as ‘Wetherspoon’s’ as a Wetherspoon’s - and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a reasonable choice of beers and the red/white wine was acceptable, wine is something pubs have improved over the last few years, still a long way to go though.
I have also eaten here a couple of times and the food was to a good standard. Not outstanding but more than acceptable for ‘pub food’. The prices were pretty reasonable, for a pub in the centre of the city.
This is another pub which shows live sports, so needless to say; it may be advisable to give it a miss on these occasions. This isn’t the most cosmopolitan pub in the world, even less-so during the sporting events - So you may get stared at if you’re sporting funny hair.
