Lord Nelson Inn - Trafalgar Street, Brighton

There are a number of good boozers on Trafalgar Street, the George, the Prince Albert. Between them you’ll find this pub - Let’s have a look to see if the Lord Nelson Inn is worth a visit. . .
Inside you’ll find a traditional pub, with two separate bars - Sport being shown in one during my visit, I elected to sit in the non-sport area. There is also a large area (function room) with seats at the back of the pub, décor could be described as ‘traditional pub’ style.
There was a good mix of patrons and a laid-back atmosphere. Drinks were reasonable and service was prompt. There was free wifi, so you can check your email whilst supping one of the fine Harveys brews.
Smokers will need to stand out front whilst getting their fix, as there didn’t seem to be a garden. The Lorn Nelson website describes the pub thus: “The Lord Nelson is a classic unspoilt back street local” I’d say that’s a pretty good description! Well worth a visit.

The pub plays host to The Brighton Acoustic Session on the first Monday of the month. Mostly folk, with some excellent booked guests.
