The Battle of Trafalgar - Guildford Rd, Brighton

Battle of Trafalgar

Here’s another pub a stones throw from Brighton Station - Is it worth stop-over on your journey?

There is a fine selection of beers, real ale and cider - and the prices are about average for the area. The bar is located in the middle with the old saloon/public bar layout. Chairs and tables are placed opposite the bar on one wall, this leaves a narrow aisle to the toilets/garden. I’ve seen a few incidents of drinks getting spilled due to this.

Because of the layout the battle used to seem really busy on Fridays, since the smoking ban it seems to be less crowded as the smokers are religated to the garden and in the bad weather; the no-expense-spent; “smoking area” :)

Don’t let that put you off though; the patio garden is very nice and it’s a real sun trap in the summer.

The Food is way above average too, the servings being generous! And the prices are quite reasonable. I would say if you choose your time carefully this is a nice enough pub to visit.
