Previously known as the ‘Hole in the wall’ - this is Brighton’s smallest pub.
Sometimes life likes to give you a metaphoric kick in the plums - I got one of these shortly after reviewing the Temple Bar, as within weeks it was shut down and torn apart! (I didn’t think it was that bad )
This bar is situated five minutes from the city centre, but then Brighton is not that big a city!
Here’s another pub on the ’street of a thousand restaurants’ A.K.A Preston street.
Brave the hell that is West street and you’ll be rewarded with this traditional Irish pub. Let’s go inside and sample the Guinness, just for the craic. . .
Just a stones-throw (or a rock, if it’s Saturday night :-)) from West street is this delightful pub, let’s find out more. . .
Timing is everything
I’ve been in this establishment a few times and it is a nice enough place, not great, but acceptable. Other people don’t seem to have been so fortunate, with reports of fights and general aggro.
You’ll find the Earth & Stars a few yards (or should that be metres now?) away from the throng of Queens street; with it’s numerous bars, eateries and off-licences. This pub lives in a world betwixt the trendiness of ‘the Lanes’ and the chavtastic madness that is West St - So what’s it like???
This pub has recently re-opened having been refurbished; It’s been closed for years. So it was interesting to have a look around and enjoy a pint or ten.
